Jeff's life can be summed up in one word - service. When we decided
to form a service committee for our High Priest Group, Jeff was the
consensus candidate to act as Chair. Jeff is always seeking
opportunities to help other people, without regard to his own needs or
well-being. We had our own experience with Jeff when he unselfishly came
to our assistance. Jeff was constructing an addition on our home and
had just placed two skylights in the new roof. They were not fully
integrated into the roofing material when the work day ended. That night
a monsoon storm blew through our community and pelted our house with
wind and rain. Linda was home alone and went into the new addition to
make sure everything was in tact. To her dismay as she was inspecting
the construction a strong wind blew over our home and dislodged one of
the skylights. Linda was now standing in a large room in the middle of a
torrential down pour looking up at a large hole that had just appeared
in the roof. She immediately called Jeff, and to her relief he was home
and immediately available. Jeff came to our home, found the skylight on
the ground and climbed on the roof to secure the light. Although
the storm was still raging, Jeff braced himself on the roof and replaced
the skylight, while Linda watched from below with deep concern for his
safety. When we later asked Jeff about this incident, he brushed it off
as a small matter and nothing to focus on. Jeff is one of those unique
individuals who constantly perform Christ-like service and do so without
any thought of recognition or reward. We are greatly blessed to have
Jeff as a friend.
